Founded in 1920, Writtle Bowling Club is situtated in the heart of Wriitle village, about 3 miles east of Chelmsford the county town of Essex. WBC boasts a full size bowling green which nestles behind a high grade 2 listed wall which provides a pictuesque setting for bowling throughout the summer season.  We are affiliated to the EBA, ECBA, ECWBA, C & D BA & the C. M-W League. Whether you are a serious competition bowler or just wish to participate in a leisurely afternoon "roll up" in excellent company you can be assured of a warm welcome.

Membership
 
Current membership is full and stands at 150 and consists of 105 gentlemen and 45 ladies. Currently the membership is closed to new members but as vacancies occur notices are placed in and around the village advertising for new members.Those interested can also be placed on our waiting list. 
Other Activities
 
We boast a good size clubhouse, with bar and kitchen facilites which we make good use of both during and out of the bowling season. During the closed season we hold various social events for members including a crib league, whist drives, quiz nights and other similar activities
